Did Drew Brees have one of the most unnoticed excellent seasons of all time last year. Considering the numbers he put up against defenses that knew there was no run game whatsoever to worry about, and, the fact that he was pretty much his own OC, what he did was pretty phenomenal. Were the picks a little high? Yeah, but 5 of those were in one flukishly terrible game, and the bottom line is when you throw the ball a lot, you are going to have interceptions occur. Just ask Andrew Luck (in regards to the Luck vs RG3 rookie year stats debate), not all picks are the QBs fault either. Honestly, is there really any doubt that the Chargers made the wrong move with how they handled the Brees/Rivers situation? I know hindsight is 20/20, but I don't think that was A.J. Smith's finest hour.

Are the Browns really a pretty good looking team? I really thought last year was gonna be the year they won 9 games, and if you look at those losses, 5 of them were one touchdown or less. If I look at the teams that lost 10 or more games last year and compare the talent on the rosters, I think the Browns are up there. Obviously, you gotta have a QB, and Weeden, much like Tannehill, really needs to progress in order for his team to to reach a new level.

Is Seattle one of the worst coached good teams in the NFL. I remember looking at the Seahawks roster last pre-season and I counted something like 12 guys that had made a pro-bowl during their career. I think they are a stacked team with some really quality talent at some very premium positions. I honestly don't think Pete Carroll can coach his way out of a pee wee football game. He was a recruiter in college, he's a just a mouthpiece in the NFL. Yeah, he can do the Ra Ra Go Team deal, but that guy routinely costs his team due to his outdated, sometimes unfathomable, truly hard to explain gametime decision making.

I totally agree with you on the Browns. I was saying that last season and people were looking at me like I was crazy, but they really did lose a number of close games that could've gone the other way. Doesn't mean much in the end, but you figure with some experience and a little added talent, that could change. Weeden might have a shorter window given his age coming into the league, but I think he could take a step forward this season. I saw him make some damn good passes last year, and I saw his WRs drop some crucial passes that might've made a difference. AFC North has always been a tough division though, and with the Bengals rising the way they have, it's been tough for the Browns to get out of the cellar.
